Start Character
Enter the character to be used at the start of a host message. Select None, STX, or
enter any 3 characters. Default is NONE.

Area Format
Press the far right Select key for Decimal format. The display shows DECIMAL YES. Press
the middle right Select key for Binary format. The display shows DECIMAL NO.
RETRIES TO
FAILURE: 5
Retries to Failure
Press any top row Select key to clear the display. Enter the number of attempts,
between 1 and 15, the SCS-1R makes to transmit a message to the host computer. When
this number is reached, the SCS-1R initiates a host failure mode. Default is 5 (ve).
SERIAL 3 MSGS?
NO YES
Serial 3 Messages
Press the far right Select key to select YES to allow the SCS-1R to send Serial 3 message
format to the Host automation computer. Press the middle right Select key for NO,
which converts Serial 3 messages to Serial 1 messages.
SCS-1R PRINTER
DISABLE NO YES
Printer Disable
Press the middle right Select key for NO to enable the printer and operate as
programmed in the SCS-1R Print Always option. Press the far right Select key for YES, to
disable the Activity Log printer port. Default is NO.
Note: UL central station applications must use a serial printer that is listed for Fire
Protective Signaling Systems.

Press the middle right Select key for NO, which prints only when in host failure mode.
Press the far right Select key for YES to enable the printer output for all system events.
Note: UL central station applications must use a serial printer that is listed for Fire
Protective Signaling Systems.

Press the far right Select key for YES, which allows each message sent to the host to be
prexed with an SIA CIS CRC-16. The format is 4 hexadecimal characters.

Sequence Number
Press the far right Select key for YES, which sends each message sent to the host with a
sequence number ranging from 1 to 99.
SMALL “z” ZONE
MSGS? NO YES
Small “z” Zone Messages
Press the far right Select key under YES to congure the SCS-1R Receiver Host output
to use the “z” zone message format in communication with the host automation
computer. The “z” message processes 16-character zone and area names from DMP
1912XR and old XR200 panels. Select NO to congure the SCS-1R Receiver to convert all
zone messages to the A, T, or R message format.
SCS-1R TIME TO
PANELS? NO YES
SCS-1R Time To Panels
Press the top row Select key under YES to allow the SCS-1R to update the DMP
Command Processor™ panel internal clock as the panels communicate with the SCS-1R
Receiver. Select NO to prevent the SCS-1R Receiver from updating the communicating
panel internal clocks. The time must be sent from the host computer through the
SCS-1R host port every 24 hours to allow this function to work. Please see the
Receiver/Panel Time Updates section in the SCS-1R Host Communication Output
Specication (LT-0086) for further details.
If the Host automation computer does not send time updates, if the time has been
changed manually at the Membrane Keypad, and if SCS-1R Time to Panels is set to YES,
the time change is sent to panels that request time updates.
