The digital input module accepts the binary control signals from the
process level and provides an electrically isolated interface to the central
bus system. This module is only suited for central deployment together with
a CPU. Here the module detects and stores the rising edges of input
pulses with a duration > 0.2ms.
At the cycle control point the status information of the module is transferred
to the process image and then reset in the module again by the CPU.
Since the status information exist over one cycle, a cyclically processing is
necessary. Here the module must always be mapped to an address within
the process image.
The module has 8 input channels. The status of the input signals is
indicated by light emitting diodes.
