Provision Using a Yokogawa ISA100 Gateway
To provision VP Series 2000 devices on a Yokogawa gateway you first need to add the devices to the
network configuration before using OTA provisioning.
Refer to the Yokogawa user documentation for more information and detailed instructions.
To add devices to a Yokogawa network configuration:
1. In the Yokogawa “Field Wireless Management Console”, open “Configurator”.
2. Add VP Series 2000 devices to the Field Wireless Network on the “Field Devices” tab.
a. Set the “Device Tag”.
b. Check “OTA Provisioning”.
c. Select the “Device Role” as “IO”, “IO Auto”, or “IO+Router”.
d. Select the Primary Router.
e. Select the Secondary Router.
3. Apply the updated configuration to the gateway.
After completing the above steps, the devices can be provisioned. We recommend configuring the
device “Sampling Data” before provisioning devices. The capabilities file (CF) required to configure
VP Series 2000 devices is embedded in the device descriptor (DD) file and must be extracted from the
relevant archive (“.zip”)file before it can be applied.
To apply a CF file to the VP Series 2000 devices and configure sampling data:
1. In the Yokogawa “Field Wireless Management Console”, open “Configurator”.
2. Select “Sampling Data”. The “Sampling Data” pane is displayed.
3. Click “Add”. The “Sampling Settings” dialog box is displayed.
4. In the “Device Tag” field, click browse and select the check box of the device you want to modify.
You can select multiple devices of the same type. Click “OK”.
5. In the CF / DD pane, select “CF File”. If the CF file is not yet displayed:
a. Select “Load CF/DD”. The “Open” dialog box is displayed.
b. Navigate to the directory location of the relevant VP Series 2000 device compatibility file.
Select the capability file matching the device you want to upgrade, as shown below:
VP Series 2000
Device
DD File Name
Capability File Name
NR1210 Repeater
VP2010 Single Axis
VP2030 Tri-Axis
c. Click “Open”. The CF file is displayed in the “CF File” field.
