adhesives. Do not mix pipe, ttings, or joining methods
from dierent manufacturers.
o Plastic venting systems shall not pass through rated re
separations.
o Keep assembly free of insulation during installation
o Do not use eld supplied couplings to extend pipes.
o Recirculation of ue gasses may occur, causing the
intake pipe to freeze shut during cold weather operation if
the venting system is not installed per these guidelines.
If the venting system is not installed properly, ue gas may
recirculate, possibly causing the intake pipe to freeze shut
during cold weather.
o The safe operation of the vent system is based on the use
of parts supplied in this kit or approved per the guidelines
that follow in the instructions. The performance of the
system may be aected if the combination of these
prescribed parts is not used in actual building
construction.
1) Acceptable Gas Appliances, Components, Sealants and
Installation Methods
a) The DiversiTech horizontal vent termination kit is
intended for use with Category IV high eciency
(condensing gas) furnaces or water heaters with
exhaust temperatures up to and including 65°C
(149°F), ULC S636 Class II. Failure to follow this warning
could result in re, personal injury or death.
b) Pipe and ttings are required to complete installation
(user supplied). The combustion air and vent pipe
ttings must conform to ANSI and ASTM standards
D1785, F891, D2665, D2241, D2661, or F628. Pipe
cement and primer must conform to ASTM standards
D2564 or D2235.
