General Rules for Using Disk Jockey
There are some general notes to remember when working
with hard disk drives attached to the Disk Jockey:
1. The Disk Jockey supports FireWire Revision A, or the
50 MB/sec flavor of FireWire.
2. If you are ever only attaching one drive, for
example in Mode 0 (Standard Mode) or if you are
only erasing or checking one hard disk drive, please
attach the hard disk drive to the Drive 1 port on the
Disk Jockey.
3. Hard disk drives must support Ultra DMA. If a
drive does not support Ultra DMA you will hear an
audible alarm informing you that the drive has not
completed the chosen task.
4. The hard disk drives must be set up as a Master disk
(as opposed to a slave). For more information on
setting up a drive as a master please refer to your
hard disk drive users guide or search the web site of
the drive manufacturer for more details.
5. The drives will only work on those operating
systems that support FireWire or USB 2.0 as a
native operating system. If you are having trouble
mounting your drives please check the Diskology
