FCC Compliance
The following text is extracted from Federal Com munications
Commission (FCC) regulations, as of the publication date of this
Guide. Contact the FCC (see following) or your library for the
complete text of the regulations.
Telephone Communication
This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. On the rear panel of
this equipment is a label that c ontains, among other information, the FCC
registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for this
equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone
company.
The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which m ay be
connected to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may
result in the devices not ringing in response to an incom ing call. In most, but
not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain
of the number of devices that may be connected to the line, as determined by
the total RENs, contact the telephone company to determine the maximum
REN for the calling area.

This equipment uses the following Universal Service Order Code (USOC)
jacks: RJ-11C.
A plug and jack used to connec t this equipment to the premises wiring and
telephone network m ust comply with the applicable FCC P art 68 rules and
requirements adopted by the ACTA. A compliant tele phone cord and
modular plug is provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to
a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation
ins tructions for details.
Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact t he state
public utility commission, public servic e commiss ion or corporation
commission for information.
If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the
telephone line, ensure the installation of this [e quipment ID] does not disable
your alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable a larm
equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.

your right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary.
The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment,
operations, or procedures that c ould affect the ope ration of the equipment. If
this happens, the telephone company will provide a dvance notic e in order for
you to make the necessa ry modifications in order to maintain uninterrupted
service.
