Extended Remote Control Addresses
Note: For all remotes except 20.0 and 21.0 which have an easier way to program these higher addresses.
The standard set of remote control addresses are 1 to 16. Extended remote control addresses provide the installer with
another group of addresses (17 to 31), to reduce the chance of remote control conicts with nearby satellite receivers. For
example, some Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) would be a possible application. To program a remote control to operate in
the extended range (17 to 31), use the following steps:
1. Open the receiver's System Information screen using the front panel SYSTEM INFO button (or turn the receiver off
and press CHANNEL UP).
2. Hold the SAT mode button until all mode buttons light up, then release.
3. Press POUND (#) then press CHANNEL UP.
4. Choose an extended remote address (a number from 17 to 31), then subtract 16 from that address. Enter the result.

5. Press POUND (#). If the address was entered correctly, the SAT mode button ashes three times.
6. Press RECORD. Make sure the extended remote address you now see on the System Information screen is the
same as what you wanted in step 5 (17 to 31). If it isn’t, the remote cannot control the receiver.
