Deployment Guide for the Polycom VVX 1500 C Business Media Phone

Supported Phone Features
The following features are supported on the Polycom VVX 1500 C:
• Six line appearances
• Place a call (to an extension or SIP or H.323 URL)
• Hold/Resume
• Consultative and blind transfer
• Video on/off
• Call forward (all calls, no answer, and busy)
• Single-button voicemail dialing
• Message Waiting Indicator
• Shared line appearance (call forking - no busy lamp field)
• LDAP/Active Directory integration
Warning
To upgrade a Polycom VVX 1500 C phones running SIP 3.1.2RevB or earlier to SIP
3.2.2 or later, you must perform additional steps before rebooting the phone to
download the software. Refer to Upgrading the Phone’s Software on page 3-16.
Polycom strongly recommends that you connect the Polycom VVX 1500 C to the
LAN using the included network cable. A LAN connection enables access to a
provisioning server as well as a time server.
A provisioning server facilitates software upgrades, configuration management, and
diagnostic logging, which is helpful if troubleshooting is required.
Access to a time server enables display of the current date and time on the phone's
display.
