Surface Mounting: Select a location for the replace, preferably near an electrical outlet and there must be at least one
wall stud behind for the replace to mount onto. The bottom of the unit must be a minimum of 14 inches (356 mm) above
the oor (mounting holes 29¾ inch (0.75 m) minimum above the oor) or any surface such as a tabletop to ensure adequate
space for heat exhaust from the bottom of the replace. (Figure 1 & 2)
CAUTION: The replace must be mounted at two (2) points, one of which must be on a wall stud.
!
NOTE: It is recommended that the bottom of the unit not be mounted higher than 48 inches (1.22 m) from the ground to
maintain an optimized viewing angle of the ame.
Built-In Mounting: The Convex In Stud replace can be built into a wall space 16 inches (406 mm) over-center between
2” x 4” wall studs. Prepare a wall opening following the dimensions shown in Figure 3. Note that a four (4) inch (102 mm)
minimum depth including the thickness of dry wall is required. Make sure there is enough clearance for the cable coming out
from the bottom of the replace.
Bathroom Installation: This rebox must be protected by a GFI receptacle or circuit for bathroom use. If receptacle is
used it must be readily accessible.
This unit is an electrical appliance that is not watertight and must be installed as to prevent water from entering the unit to
prevent electrical shock. Never locate replace where it may fall into a bathtub or other water containers. Keep towels and
other combustible materials three (3) feet (0.9 m) away from the bottom of the unit.
Vented Air: The replace must be mounted so that the bottom, front edge and the upper, front of the rebox MUST NOT
be blocked. (Figure 2) Air is taken in from the upper vents and returned through the lower vents. The rebox may overheat if
any of these vents are obstructed.
WARNING: The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. The trim around the
heater outlet becomes hot during heater operation. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, pa-
pers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the unit.
Power cord: The unit comes wired with a two prong power cord, which exits the rear, left side of the rebox. The rebox
can also be wired directly to a 120V power supply.
WARNING: Construction and electrical outlet wiring must comply with local building codes and other applicable regula-
tions to reduce the risk of re, electric shock and injury to persons.
WARNING:Do not attempt to wire your own new outlets or circuits. To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or injury to
persons, always use a licensed electrician.
