Frequently Asked Questions – Reclaimed Pallet Boards
Do all the boards in a pack look the same?
Within a single pack of Dimensions Reclaimed Pallet Boards, there may be any number of
aesthetic variations, such as species, colors, grain patterns, number of knots, nail holes,
mortise holes and precise dimensions. However, there will be no greater than ¼” variation
between boards within a single pack. This mixed offering guarantees each project will be
characterized by its own fun and unique personality.
Are all the boards the same color?
Board colors vary naturally by species, but also may vary in color, staining and more. These
variations are often determined by each board’s original use during its life as a pallet.
Are all the boards the same size?
The precise dimensions may vary by a 1/4" or so, but each pack is hand selected to include
generally like-sized boards.
Will I need to be careful when handling boards to avoid slivers or exposed fasteners?
You should always use care when handling any wood products. However, all fasteners are
clipped for a smoother texture, and our boards are sanded to minimize rough surfaces and
imperfections.
Are these boards VOC-free?
Yes. At the time of this writing, Dimensions Reclaimed Pallet Boards are the only brand of
pallet wood on the market that’s VOC- and heavy metal-free – unlike a majority of other
salvaged pallet boards available for purchase. Our boards are rigorously inspected for mold
and insect damage, as well as scanned by a handheld detector for hazardous VOC
chemicals. They are then run through an XRF scanner to detect any heavy metals such as
Arsenic and Cadmium. These stringent testing protocols are in place to ensure that your
pallet board projects are as good for your health as they are enjoyable to make and use.
Will the boards arrive ready for use?
Yes, our pallet wood comes unassembled, clean, dry and sanded. Cut the bundle loose and
off you go!
