5 OTDR Test

5.1 Cleaning and connecting optical fibers

Attention:

To ensure maximum power and avoid false readings:

● Always clean the end of the optical fiber according to the

following instructions before inserting it into the port. OTDR is not

responsible for damage or errors resulting from improper fiber

cleaning or handling.

● Ensure that the optical fiber jumper has the correct connector. If

the connector does not match, it may cause damage.

To connect the optical cable to the optical port

1. Clean the end of the optical fiber as follows:

a. Gently wipe the end of the optical fiber with a lint free swab soaked in isopropyl

alcohol
