2.3.3 Grounding Precautions
(a) Dedicated Ground: Optimal
Designate the ground from the FG terminal
on the rear face of the PS-B as a dedicated
ground as illustrated in figure (a).
(b) Shared Ground: Acceptable
If a dedicated ground cannot be provided,
use a shared ground as illustrated in figure
(b).
Be sure to use grounding wire of 2 mm
2
or
thicker. The grounding point should be as
close to the PS-B as possible to make the
grounding wires as short as possible. When
the grounding wire should be long, use
thick, insulated wires and lay the wires
through conduits.
FG and SG are connected inside the PS-B
main unit. When connecting with other
device, designate the system configuration
so that it won't form a SG short-circuit loop.

Ground the lightning surge absorber (E1) and the PS-B (E2) sepa-
rately
Select a lightning surge absorber that will not exceed the maximum
allowable circuit voltage, even when the power supply voltage rises
to the maximum.
