Battery Subsystem Parameters, Continued
Table 5–2 (Continued) BSS Parameter Definitions
Parameter Definition
BSS_REST This flag is used to reset the initial parameter
when a battery is changed. After the battery
is changed, the user should set this flag to 1.
When the firmware detects the flag has been set
(may take up to 1 minute), the firmware will
reinitialize it parameters, and reset the flag to
0. The values of the parameters in NVRAM will
not be updated until the unit is power-cycled,
or the user sets the BSS_UPNV flag. The value
of the BSS_REST flag shown by PARAMS is a
local copy and is not updated when the NVRAM
copy is updated by the firmware. The user must
exit PARAMS and re-enter to see the updated
value.
BSS_UPNV This flag is used to update the NVRAM copies of
the BSS parameters with the current run-time
values. The user sets this bit, and when the
firmware detects the flag, the firmware will
update the NVRAM copies of the parameters
and reset the BSS_UPNV flag. The value of the
BSS_REST flag and other parameters shown by
PARAMS are local copies and are not updated
when the NVRAM copies are updated by the
firmware. The user must exit PARAMS and
re-enter to see the updated values.
