Paper Storage
How you store paper once you receive it is an important aspect
in the proper use of paper. Here are some suggestions:
Store paper in its own wrapper; do not leave it unwrapped
or in a place where it can be affected by dampness or heat.
Store paper on a horizontal (level) surface. Do not place
other objects on top of the paper.
Always store paper in a cool, dry place (like a closed
cabinet).
Do not store paper on the floor. Cartons should be placed
on shelves, stacked no more than six cartons high.
To reduce the effects of moisture on the paper in areas of high
humidity, store partially used reams of paper in plastic bags.
Envelopes
Paper properties are subject to change by paper manufacturers.
Follow the guidelines below when selecting envelopes for use
with your printer:
Select envelopes that meet the specifications outlined in
Table E-4.
Test samples before purchasing large quantities of envelopes.
Store and handle envelopes carefully.
Store them where they can lie flat and where the edges are
not damaged.
Keep them away from high humidity and moisture.
Test envelopes with adhesives that do not require moistening,
but rely on pressure to seal them. The fusing process may
seal them.
Select envelopes that are suitable for use with a laser printer.
