NightHawk
®
Vehicle Pursuit-Stopping System
from Pacific Scientific
The NightHawk
®
is the first remotely
deployed and retracted vehicle
pursuit-stopping system. It is a smart
combination of high tech engineering
and proven Stop Stick® tire deflation
technology packaged into a small
case weighing less than 30 lbs.
The NightHawk takes the first
responder out of the way of oncom-
ing traffic and eliminates the need to
throw a stick across the road at just
the right moment.
Fairly simple to operate, it can be
placed on the side of the road and
can cover up to 24 feet of lane space
when deployed. With just a click of a
remote control RF frequency button
(up to 100 ft. away), the system
deploys in less than 2 seconds in
front of the targeted vehicle.
The target vehicle gets no time to
react as it runs over the spikes, even-
tually resulting in deflated tires. The
Stop Sticks
®
are encased in protective
sleeves for added safety.
The system can then be remotely
retracted with a second click of a
button, which ensures that no other
vehicles are affected. The target
vehicle’s tires are also deflated at a
controlled pace, allowing it to come
to a safe stop.

PERIMETER SECURITY
Optellios
FiberPatrol System
The FiberPatrol FP1100-X system from
Optellios features advanced fiber-optic
sensor technology for fence line perimeter
monitoring. It can pinpoint the location of
an intrusion attempt to within one or two
fence panels. Multiple simultaneous events,
such as coordinated intrusions, can be effec-
tively detected and located. The system reports the coordinates of an attempted
breach, which can be used for activating corresponding PTZ camera presets and
for personnel dispatch. The location-sensing ability also enables the system to
ignore non-localized disturbances, such as those produced by wind and rain.
When a fence sensor is cut, either in an attempt to defeat security or through acci-
dental damage, the system immediately reports the incident, including its exact
location.

Vehicle Barricades from Delta Scientific
Delta Scientific’s DSC207 Embassy vehicle barricade system is a fully enclosed,
shallow foundation wedge barricade with covered front and sides. In a full-scale
crash test conducted by an independent test lab, the DSC207 met the criteria
for an M50/K12 rating. A 15,000 pound (6800 kg) truck impacting at 50 mph (80
km/h) was stopped dead in its tracks with zero penetration and no foundation
damage. It features a small footprint, a new programmable drive system and is
extremely serviceable. The barricade
provides foundation space in which main-
tenance personnel can easily work. There
is space for heaters and sump pumps.
Access is available from either the top
plate or front. The barricade can also be
galvanized.

ComNet’s NetWave NW8
Wireless Ethernet Link for
Large-Scale Perimeter Protection
ComNet, Com-
munication Net-
works of Danbury,
Conn., a USA-
based manufac-
turer of fiber optic,
wireless and copper
transmission and
networking equip-
ment, has introduced
the NetWave
®
NW8
wireless Ethernet link that is designed
to support redundant ring and “Drop-
and-Insert” functionality on a wireless
network. The NW8 is a dual radio ver-
sion of the recently introduced NW
series of environmentally hardened
wireless Ethernet products.
ComNet positions this product as
a solution for large-scale perimeter
protection for facilities such as airports,
border patrol and other large facilities
where a wired infrastructure is cost-pro-
hibitive. The NW8 models feature dual
gigabit Ethernet ports that support up
to two IP connections and allow for
multiple IP cameras
to be aggregated
onto the wire-
less network. The
NW8 also supports
optional IEEE802.3at
PSE (Power Sourcing
Equipment) for pow-
ering PoE connected
devices, such as IP
PoE cameras and
simplifying installation.
“Wireless Ethernet gives our custom-
ers incredible flexibility. Our goal of
making wireless as easy as Power, Point
and Play was step 1. Step 2 is to start
examining different unique use scenar
-
ios and developing wireless products
that solve those challenges. The dual
radio NetWave
®
NW8 products are the
result and solves that perimeter surveil
-
lance challenge,“ said Andrew Acqua-
rulo Jr., ComNet President and COO.

Pit-BUL Vehicle Stopping System
from Pacific Scientific
PSEMC has engineered
what we believe to truly
be the safest, fastest,
most portable, and
most arresting vehicle
barrier system ever pro-
duced, the Pit-BUL™
(Ballistic Undercarriage
Lanyard). No car, truck,
van, or any vehicle will
be able to escape cap-
ture. What’s more, it will
stop a vehicle virtually — and safely
— in its tracks; users needn’t worry
that a car will careen out of control
for yards, possibly causing damage
to nearby structures or harming inno-
cent pedestrians.
Unlike traditional barriers, Pit-BUL
enables safety for the driver and pas-
sengers while the vehicle is captured.
Users also stay safe, as this portable
vehicle stopping device may be
deployed from up to 300 feet away.
Pit-BUL™ also allows for the
normal flow of traffic until the user
selects a vehicle to be captured. Our
vehicle arresting system works by
capturing a vehicle’s front wheels in a
mesh net as the car drives over what
looks to be a speed bump. The car’s
wheels lock within 20 feet, stopping
the car safely (the car can be returned
to drivable condition in no more than
10 minutes by simply removing the
mesh net from the wheels). Normal
traffic may resume over the speed
bump within minutes.
