Adding Touch Screen or Interacvity...
All the VideoFlyers™ are supplied with the opon of mul-level interacve touch screens. The touch screen allows
users to access dierent media tracks by pressing the screen and selecng the appropriate opon.
For Waynding & internet enabled kiosks - then full screen standard touch panels are used. For more simple
interacve applicaons - such as for museum, retail or customer surveying applicaons - Digital View recommends
the supply of segmented touch panels - which create simplied interacve triggers.
ITO Touch - Smaller Format Displays
The standard Digital View soluon uses a segmented ITO touch screen. This oers 8 dierent
opons at each level - in a xed template. The content needs to be created to align behind the
dierent secons of the template. Fixed segment ‘push buon’ touch screens have the benet
of oering instantaneous le playback - there is no processing delay as the appropriate track is
sourced.
For retail and museum applicaons - instant content playback is crical to retaining customer
interest. The media is programmed using DV-Studio - supporng upto 3000 dierent media
tracks.
Analog Touch - Larger Format Displays
Digital View’s standard large format soluon is to supply Resisve touch overlays.
While this combinaon is more expensive than the standard ITO touch soluon there are a
number of specic advantages;
→ The acve touch area is not divided, it appears as one connuous physical area across
the enre screen
→ This oers 8, 12 or 24 dierent acons at each level - oering a large range of interacve
opons
→ Commercial touch screens oer a range of display sizes and nishes (ie an-reecve or
an-glare) and enhanced levels of durability
The DV Analog Touch Screen Controller is a small PCB ulizing a micro-controller to convert
screen touches into commands formaed for the MS controller. The controller is provided with
both serial and parallel interfaces to provide a choice of interfacing. Digital View
supports pre-congured cables for a range of Microtouch touch screens.
