PTM (PANEL TRANSMISSION MONITORING)
The PTM feature allows the GS3060 unit to route calls through GSM in the event the communica-
tion between the panel and central station is not successful on the phone line. When enabled, this
feature is only active when the POTS line is connected on the Tip/Ring and present.
The GS3060 will monitor the telephone line for on hook/off hook conditions, once it detects an on-
hook condition, it will do the following:
detect DTMF digits dialed. (refer to Note 1: PTM PHONE NUMBERS TABLE)
check for a Contact ID kiss-off.
When the telephone number is dialed, this number must match one of the numbers programmed
in the PTM PHONE NUMBERS TABLE, the GS3060 will seize the phone line and provide dial tone
and handshake to allow the call to be routed through GSM under the following condition:
1 – Four on hook/off hook attempts with no dialing AND/OR
2 – Four on hook/off hook attempts with the dialing happening – no Contact ID kiss off detected.
The above condition must happen within a 20 minute period. The GS3060 will stay in this mode as
long as the panel remains off hook sending. If the panel stops/hangs up, then the phone line is
returned to the PSTN. If the panel needed to redial for additional events, then the GS3060 will go
back through the same failure mode before GSM communication will take over.
Note 1: PTM PHONE NUMBERS TABLE: A 4 telephone numbers table that is used to determine
if the call is made by the panel or house phones. The GS3060 will only monitor activity and
check for Contact ID kiss off when one of these number is dialed. If the table is empty, the
GS3060 will monitor every call made.
