14.4. Using Picture Porter 35 with an External Hard Drive
You can also connect an external hard drive* to Picture Porter 35
with the USB-OTG cable and USB cable. This function allows you
to make a complete backup of all your data on Picture Porter 35 or
copy selections of files and folders to the external drive.
* Not all USB external hard drives will be compatible with Picture
Porter 35.
To connect a USB external hard drive
:
1. Connect the standard USB cable to your USB hard drive.
2. Connect the USB-OTG cable to the UBS cable from your
USB external hard drive.
3. Connect the mini-USB (small) end of the USB-OTG cable
into the USB port on the Picture Porter 35.
4. Once connected, the external hard drive will be accessible
through the USB
icon on the Home Screen.
Note
: When connecting an external hard drive to Picture Porter
35, make sure to have the Picture Porter 35 connected to AC
power to ensure a stable power supply for the Picture Porter 35.
Make sure to connect your external hard drive to a dedicated
power supply if required by the external hard drive manufacturer.
Back up entire Picture Porter 35 to external hard drive
:
1. From the Home Screen, navigate to the HD1
icon.
2. Press MENU and select BACKUP to USB
.
The entire Picture Porter 35 will create a folder called Backup on
the external hard drive and copied its entire contents into a new
folder in Backup. The folder naming convention will follow the
same one used for the memory card Backup function.
