Inside the System Unit
You can remove the cover from the system unit to gain access to
the memory and option module slots inside the unit.
Caution: Whenever you touch anything inside the system unit, be sure
to use the antistatic wrist strap provided by Digital. See Chapter 4 of
this guide for instructions on its use.
To remove the cover from the system unit
1. Turn off the system unit by pressing the 0 on the on/off
switch on the back of the unit.
2. Facing the front of the system unit, turn the cover-release
screw on the back of the unit to your right until you feel
it release. (Note that you can only loosen this screw; you
cannot remove it from the back of the system unit.)
3. Grasp each side of the cover with your hands and pull the
cover straight toward you until it is free from the unit.
