About This Manual
This guide describes how to troubleshoot, adjust, and repair the
VAXstation 3100 Model 76 system to the field replaceable unit (FRU)
level. It covers all FRU options presently available for the VAXstation
3100 Model 76 system. The label on the rear of the system box indicates
the system you are working on (VS43A-xx).
Organization
This guide has four chapters and four appendices.
Chapter Description
1 Describes testing procedures for a power-up test, self-test, and
system exerciser tests.
2 Describes troubleshooting procedures to help isolate the
problem to an FRU.
3 Provides a description of the utilities.
4 Describes the Model 76 system, gives a system overview, and
outlines FRU removal and replacement procedures.
Appendix A Lists the recommended spares list (RSL).
Appendix B Lists the self-tests.
Appendix C Lists the system tests.
Appendix D Lists Diagnostic LED Definitions.
