occur during the installation of the KZPBA-CA adapter. If you experience difficulty in in-
stalling or verifying the operation of the adapter, refer to the information in the trouble-
shooting tables to isolate and diagnose the problem.
6.1 Introduction
Troubleshooting is the process of isolating and diagnosing problems. This chap-
ter provides solutions to problems that can occur during the installation of the
KZPBA-CA adapter. If you experience difficulty in installing or verifying the
adapter, use the information in this chapter to isolate and diagnose the problem.
The troubleshooting techniques described in this chapter
do not
identify all pos-
sible problems with your KZPBA-CA adapter, nor do the actions suggested rem-
edy all problems. If a problem is not described, or if the actions suggested
do not
solve the problem, call your Digital services representative. For problems that
may be related to the host, refer to your host system documentation.
The troubleshooting information presented in this chapter is divided as follows:
System Power-on Problems (Table 6–1)
SCSI-Device Problems (Table 6–2)
Boot-Sequence Problems (Table 6–3)
NOTE
Before you begin troubleshooting, ensure that the
correct version of console code (SRM, ARC and
AlphaBIOS) is loaded.
