Technical data

Press the Active Jobs key. The following information is displayed on the
operator panel:
Message Meaning
NODE::USER1 The name and node of the person who submitted the print job
JOB 123
Started 8:30
The print job ID number and the time the job started printing
If no job is printing, the following message is displayed:
No Active Job
2.4 Having the System Notify You About Job Status
VMS:
The printer can broadcast messages about your print job, such as printing,
pending, aborting, or completing. To enable the printer to send you these
messages, use the /NOTIFY qualifier in your PRINT command line when you
submit a print job. For example:
PRINT/QUEUE=LPS32$POST/PARAM=DATA_TYPE=POST/NOTIFY NEW.PS
The following messages appear on your screen:
Job NEW (queue LPS32$POST, entry 910) started on LPS32$POST
%LPS-I-JOBSTART, Job NEW (queue LPS32$POST, entry 910) started on LPS32$POST
Job NEW (queue LPS32$POST, entry 910) completed
ULTRIX:
The printer can send you a mail message when your job completes. Issue the
following command to submit a print job and request mail notification:
lpr -m filename
