Displaying Printer Status
This chapter explains how to:
• Determine the printers on your node
• Find the status of print jobs that are printing or waiting to be printed
• Enable the system to notify you when a print job is complete or aborted
The following terms are used in this chapter:
Term Meaning
Print queue The list of print jobs scheduled to be printed
Pending Waiting to print
2.1 Listing the Printers on Your Node
You can list information about the printers on your node by issuing various
commands.
VMS:
To Display This... Issue This Command...
Available printers on your node SHOW QUEUE/NOBATCH
Print jobs printing or pending on all the printers SHOW QUEUE/ALL/NOBATCH
Print jobs printing or pending on a specific
printer
SHOW QUEUE/ALL queuename
