TROUBLESHOOTING
5.1 Introduction
This chapter contains troubleshooting information for the LG31 printer.
Troubleshooting the printer can involve the following:
• Diagnostic self-tests (see Section 5.2)
• Printer initialization (see Section 5.3)
• Mechanical fault finding (see Section 5.4)
• ASCII Print Test (see Section 5.5)
• Power supply troubleshooting (see Section 5.6)
Troubleshooting can also require configuring the printer: this is de-
scribed in Chapter 4 of LG31 Printer Installation/Operator’s Manual.
When a problem with the LG31 printer occurs, try to reconstruct the
events that led up to the problem.
• Check for visual indications:
— What is on the display panel readout? If it is other than
[ O F L] or [ O n L], power down and power up the printer to see
if the error code repeats (see Table 5–1). If there is no display,
see Figure 5–1.
