Power Supply Failure
Problem Troubleshooting Procedure
You turn on the power
switch and the following
conditions apply:
•
There is no panel
display
•
There is no noise
coming from the
HDD
•
The power
indicator light is off.
If you are operating the notebook
computer using the battery:
•
The system could be in suspend.
Press the Suspend/Resume
button.
•
The battery connection is loose.
Remove and reinstall the battery.
•
The battery power is depleted.
Plug in the AC adapter, or replace
the battery.
•
The battery needs to be reformed.
Reform the battery.
•
The system could be experiencing
a hang. Press the reset button
(Figure 1-3).
If you are operating the notebook
computer using the AC adapter:
•
Check that the AC adapter is
plugged into an operational power
supply.
Check that the AC adapter is connected
securely to the notebook computer’s AC
adapter socket.
