REVISION HISTORY
This appendix provides a list of the major changes that have been made
to this specification.
D.1 Changes from Version 1.1 to Version 2.0
Removed all references to MOP being used directly to
non-adjacent systems over DECnet links. The NICE protocol
performs MOP-like functions within
DECnetI using actual MOP
protocol only over a physical link.
Decoupled MOP from DDCMP maintenance mode. The protocol
specifies the requirements of a link control procedure to be
used with MOP. DDCMP maintenance mode is one such procedure.
Deleted the following messages not needed in MOP. These are
now handled by NICE. Code 20f Examine data by name; code
22,
Clear data by name; and code 2Gf Examined data by name.
Clarified the description of the fields in all MOP messages.
Clarified and expanded the operational details of MOP and
added a state table for operation.
Added detailed description of the requirements of the data
link control procedure
to be used by MOP and a detailed
description of the interfacef set of commands and responsesf
to that procedure.
Added
VAX and DECSYSTEM 10/20 information in message formats
where necessary.
Changed message
8, Request MOP secondary mode programf to
Request Program. It is now used to request all program loads
in MOPI not just the secondary program. The STADDR field
is
removed and replaced by a MOP version number field. Added
DTE20 to DEVTYPE field. PGMTYPE field is changed and SOFTID
is added.
