Function:
Reads the data link counters from the specified system.
Inputs:
Channel-id
- the unique identification of the channel on which
to
read the counters.
Destination-address
- the identification of the destination
system. Applicable only to multiaccess channels.
outputs:
Receipt-number
- the receipt number used in the Console-abort or
Read-counters-poll functions to identify
this request.

Function:
Polls for completion of
a Read-counters function.
Inputs:
Receipt-number
- the request identification assigned to this
request by the Read-counters function.
outputs:
Return-code
- the status of the request. One of:
Not complete
- the operation is still in process.
Success
- counters read.
Transmit failed
- the local transmitter could not transmit the
request.
Unrecognized channel
- there is no channel with the
specified
identification.
Channel in wrong state
- the channel is not in a state where
the read can be done.
