Setup guide

Use the following procedure to connect the printer to your OpenVMS VAX or

ULTRIX operating system.

1. Connect the appropriate adapter to the serial port , using the thumb-

screws on the adapter to secure the cable to the port .

2. Connect the appropriate cable to the adapter and the other end to your

VAXstation, server (or server adapter if required), or terminal.

Be sure to make any changes to the Communications Sub-Menu if you

are not using the default settings (EIA interface, baud rate, and so on).

3. Contact your system manager to add your printer to the network and to

establish a queue name.

This completes the installation of the printer for OpenVMS VAX and ULTRIX

users. See the DEClaser 5100 Printer User’s Guide for information on printer

features and operation.
