2.4 Connecting to OpenVMS VAX or ULTRIX Systems
This procedure explains how to connect the DEClaser 5100 printer to an
OpenVMS VAX or ULTRIX operating system. You use the serial port to
connect the printer, unless you have an optional Ethernet network card
installed.
NOTE
The default printer settings for serial communication are:
• Baud rate: 9600
• Parity: none
• Flow control: XON/XOFF (2-way)
• Stop bits: 1
• Mode: EIA-232
Refer to the Communications Sub-Menu in Appendix A of your
DEClaser 5100 Printer User’s Guide if you need to change the
communication settings for your printer.
