2.2.1 Connecting a Parallel Cable
Parallel cables are available from your local computer store or can be ordered
from Digital. See Appendix D in your DEClaser 5100 Printer User’s Guide for
parallel cable ordering information.
1. Connect the Centronics end of the cable (with the bar type contacts)
to the printer parallel port, and press the wire clips into the connector to
secure the cable to the port .

2. Attach the other end of the cable to the parallel port on your PC, using the
screws on the connector to secure the cable to the port.
For the parallel port location on your computer, see your PC
documentation.
3. If you are an MS–DOS user, go to Section 2.2.3.
4. If you are a Windows user, go to Section 2.2.4.
