Technical Characteristics
PIN SIGNAL DESCRIPTION
1 Protective Ground This wire must be electrically bonded to the
printer casing.
2 Transmitted Data (TxD) This wire carries the Printer Data to the
computer.
3 Received Data (RxD) This wire carries data from the computer to
the printer.
Data reception is governed by the ON status
of the Data Terminal Ready signal.
6 Data Set Ready (DSR) The computer uses this wire to signal to the
printer that it is ready for data transfer to and
from the printer.
7 Signal Ground (GND) This wire established the Signal Ground
reference potential for all the interchange
circuits.
20 Data Terminal Ready (DTR) The printer uses this wire to ask the
computer to initiate communication or to
indicate that it is busy. Data Terminal Ready
is ON when the printer is switched ON and
able to receive data.
