Updating records
The Update Path command is used to update a record or set of
records and bring the source file(s) back on-line. The Update
command can also be used to generate a new thumbnail for a record
by acquiring a different source file or re-acquiring the same source file
if it has changed since it was first acquired.
The Update Path command allows you to locate off-line source files
and bring them on-line.
To update a single record:
1. Select the record you want to update.
2. Choose Update Path from the Source File menu (
ALT+O, U).
Update Path dialog box
3. If the source file has been modified, select the Update Thumbnail
checkbox to generate a new thumbnail.
4. Select the source file to use for the update.
The file name that is stored with the record is shown in the
‘File Name’ box. To display a preview of any selected file,
select the Show Preview checkbox.
5. Click Open.
