) for each row of search criteria
that is followed by another row (see “Using And/Or in Complex
Searches” on page 10-4).
STEP 4 Repeat Steps 6 through 9 in the procedure above.
The results of your search appear in a portfolio window.

EARCHES
Whenever you conduct a search with more than one line of search
criteria, you must decide whether you want the search to find
records that satisfy the first row of criteria and the second row of
criteria (for example, JPEG files described with the keyword
“Birds”), or the larger group of records that satisfy either the first
row of criteria or the second row of criteria (for example, all JPEG
files in the collection, plus all files described with the keyword
“Birds”).
When any row in a seach is followed by another row, ImageAXS Pro
includes a pop-up menu at the end of the row so you can choose
either and or or to define the relationship between the rows.
In multiple-line searches connected by and or or, ImageAXS Pro
interprets and as separating the terms that come before or after it,
whereas or binds the preceding and following terms together into
one condition. This definition becomes important when a single
search combines and and or relationships.
For example, a search consisting of
Condition A and Condition B or Condition C or Condition D
would be interpreted as
(Condition A) and (Condition B or Condition C or Condition D)
rather than
(Condition A and Condition B) or (Condition C) or (Condition D).
