IMAGEAXS 4.0 MACINTOSH USER’S GUIDE
File dialog box for exporting DAS files
STEP 3 Enter a name and choose a location for saving the DAS export
file.
STEP 4 Click to put a check mark in the Include Source Files in DAS
Output File checkbox if you want your source files to be part of
the export file.
Including source files significantly increases the size of the
export file, but it also makes it easier to import the file
elsewhere as a fully functional ImageAXS collection.
STEP 5 Click OK.
ImageAXS exports the selected records in the DAS file
format.

You can also export records from ImageAXS 4.0 collections to a basic
cross-platform file format that you can import into all versions of
ImageAXS (or EmbARK, a related image management program for
museums).
ImageAXS 2.x files contain the same record and collection
information as DAS files, but cannot include the actual source files.
In addition, ImageAXS 2.x files are not able to update records
automatically when the file is imported (see “Exporting to a DAS
File” on page 12-3).
The file name for records exported to the ImageAXS 2.x format
includes a file extension of “.iax” so that the file can be identified
properly on Windows computers.
