Overview: Adding Files to a Collection
The process of adding files to a collection is called acquiring.
For each file that you acquire, ImageAXS makes a data
record that combines a thumbnail image representing the
file with basic information about that file. You can then add
text field data and keywords to the record.
The actual file (referred to as a source file) is not stored in the
collection. ImageAXS keeps track of where the source file
is, though, so you can view, edit, copy, move, delete, or
rename the source file without leaving ImageAXS (see
“Managing Records and Source Files” on page 103).
