Introduction Thank you for purchasing the DIGIMATE DGL2700 display set. This LCD display can be used either as a television or as a computer monitor. With its multiple input options, you can connect almost any device (e.g. VCRs, DVD players and game consoles) to this display. You can also connect your display to a stereo system. Connect a powered subwoofer to experience the ultimate in home entertainment. This manual has been designed to help you install and operate your display properly.
Location and Function Controls Front View Main Power Switch LED indicator Green: Display is turned on. Red: Standby mode or no signal. REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY INSTALLATION Slide the battery compartment cover. Install two “AAA” batteries (not supplied), paying close attention to the + / - polarity diagram in the battery compartment. Replace the compartment cover. BATTERY PRECAUTIONS The precautions below should be followed when using batteries in this device: 1 Use only the size and type of batteries specified. 2 Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment.
Using the Remote Control The remote control can be used to control every aspect of the display's operation and provides ease-of-use of the LCD Display: Button Description Power On / Off (standby) after turning on the main power switch. Displays the current information such as channel, etc. Go to the TV menu directly. Cycle through input sources: TV Æ AV1 Æ AV2 Æ AV3 Æ S-Video Æ YPbPr1 Æ YPbPr2 Æ VGA Æ. Also the source key for main source under PIP/PBP mode. Switch source directly to TV mode.
Installation Installing your Display Step 1. Positioning the Display set Place your LCD Display set on a solid and stable surface. To avoid malfunctions, do not expose the LCD Display to water or a heat source and do not obstruct the ventilation grid at the back of the LCD Display. Step 2. Connecting the aerials Use for connecting the 75 Ohm antenna or coaxial cable to the TV Tuner terminal situated on back panel. Antenna or coaxial cable Step 3.
ANTENNA CONNECTIONS If you are using an indoor or outdoor antenna, follow the instructions below that correspond to your antenna system. If you are using a cable TV (CATV) see “CABLE TV CONNECTIONS”. Combination VHF/UHF Antenna (Single 75 Ohm cable or 300 Ohm twin-lead wire) Connect the 75 Ohm cable from the combination VHF/UHF antenna to the Antenna Jack. If your combination VHF/UHF antenna has a 300 Ohm twin-lead wire, the use of the 300-75 Ohm Matching Transformer may be necessary.
Connecting to different Sources/Devices Video System This display supports various input devices including component, composite and S-Video. To learn how to connect these devices to the display, consult your device's manual. Audio System Connect your display to a stereo system to enhance your viewing experience. To connect the display to an audio system, connect one end of the RCA cables to the input blocks of your stereo system then connect the other end to the audio output blocks of the display.
Channel Skip Programming Use Channel Skip to set which channels you may want to skip when tuning Up or Down using the cd channel buttons on the remote control. Press MENU then press f 3 times to go the TV page of the menu. Press d to highlight the third item Channel Skip then press f. Use cd to select the channels you want to skip. Every time you get to a channel you want to skip, press ENTER. A check mark appears beside the channel number that has been marked skipped.
Using the Display Basic Operation Turning the Power On/Off Press POWER to turn on the LCD Display. The power indicator changes from red to green. When the power is off, the power indicator changes from green to red. Selecting the Source Press SOURCE to select the input signal. Each time the SOURCE is pressed, the on-screen display will cycle through the different sources that are supported by the device. There are 8 sources are supported: TV, AV1, AV2, AV3, S-Video, YPbPr1, YPbPr2 and VGA.

Note: In TV mode, PC menu is disabled.
Audio Menu Audio settings: Bass: Adjust the level of low frequency content in the sound. Treble: Adjust the level of high frequency content in the sound. Balance: Adjust the output of the R/L speakers to obtain the best stereo reproduction. Surround: Enable/disable the surround effect. Equalizer 1/2: Choose from a variety of preset audio equalizer settings. The available settings for equalizer 1 are: Church, Arena, Cave, Bathroom, Hall, Living Room, and Concert.
TV Menu TV settings: Auto Search: Select to scan for available viewable channels from your video source. Tuner Mode: Select the video source. Channel Skip: Lets you specify channels that you want skipped when you are using thecCH / dCH buttons on the remote control. Channel Name: Lets you type in a name for the channel. This appears beside the channel number on screen. Blue Mute: Set to ON to display a blue background on screen when there is no signal detected.
PIP (Picture-In-Picture)/PBP (Picture-by-Picture) Function PIP/PBP function lets you watch video from two different sources simultaneously. You can easily control the PIP/PBP function by using the keys on the remote control as below: Button Description Activate the PIP function. Off Æ PIP Æ PBP Used to cycle the sub screen’s source. You need to press this key to highlight the screen and let it become pink first, then press it again to cycle the source. Adjust the position of minor screen.
Parental Controls Closed Caption Closed caption is a system which allows viewers to read the voice content of television programs on the TV screen to help the hearing impaired. This feature uses onscreen text boxes to show conversation and dialogue while the program is in progress. Captions are the printed text version of the conversation, narration and/or sound effects of the program you are watching. Usually, C1 is the most used while C2 may be used for alternate languages.
V-Chip Television sets (U.S. only) come with V-Chip to block TV programming based on its rating. The V-chip feature automatically blocks TV programs and movies based on violence, sex, or other content you may believe inappropriate for children. Using the remote control Press V-CHIP on the remote control then enter the password* to show the V-Chip OSD menu. Use the d/c and e/f buttons on the remote control to select items in the menu. To go back to the main menu, press MENU.
Block TV Rating (Parental Guideline) USA V-Chip Rating System V-chip reads the program’s age-based rating. If you have blocked the rating, you will receive a rating message on the screen while you select the blocked program. 1. Select Block TV Rating and press ENTER. 2. Use d/c and e/f select the categories to block. Notes: The V-Chip will automatically block certain categories that are “more restrictive”. If TV-14 category has been blocked, then TV-MA will also be automatically blocked. TV P.G.
