What happened to Low Latency Monitoring?
This role of this feature has been replaced by the "mix"pot on the front of your Mbox. By simply muting record-
readied tracks in Pro Tools, you can dial in just the right blend of input vs. playback using this pot. The mono button
offers additional monitoring control.

Can I use other audio applications with Mbox using Direct IO? My third party audio application is not
working properly with Mbox (Logic Audio, Digital Performer, etc.)
Mbox uses a new set of DIO and DSI. 3rd party companies may need to make modifications to their applications for
these versions of DIO/DSI to work correctly with their app.

Can I use Mbox on my existing Pro Tools TDM or LE system?
While it is possible to use Mbox on a system that includes existing Digidesign hardware, it is not recommended.
Mbox requires a specialized version of Pro Tools to run, with its own specialized components, and thus complications
may arise when combining it with other Digi gear.

Why won't my 1/4" microphone plug work when I plug it into Mbox?
When the Mbox inputs are set to "mic", they only accept signal from the XLR contacts of its input ports.
Microphones with 1/4"TS or TRS connectors will not work. Try the "inst"or "line"settings instead.

Can I use the Mbox inserts for outboard gear while I am mixing?
No. The Mbox inserts are places between the input amps and the A/D converters, and may only be used for signals
as they are being recorded. The option to use hardware inserts on Pro Tools tracks has been disabled due to the
bandwidth limitations of USB.

Why are there only two insert ports? Where am I supposed to plug in my effect returns?
Each input port accepts a single 1/4"TRS connector. The tip conductor carries the outbound signal to your external
device, while the ring conductor carries the return from the external device back to Mbox. The sleeve acts as
ground for both. Please consult you manual.

When I press the Mono button nothing happens.
The mono button only affects signals being received by the analog inputs of Mbox, and its effect may only be heard
on the "input"side of the mix pot. It does not have any influence on playback from Pro Tools.
