By removing the generic iLok listing from the Device Manager, the system will re-detect the iLok when you restart
the computer. Windows will load the PACE drivers and the iLok will now show up in the Device Manager under
Dongles > USB iLok Driver. Your plug-ins will load correctly when Pro Tools is launched.

Which USB port should I plug the iLok into?
The iLok key should work in any available USB port on your system. However, some users have reported problems
with their computer failing to recognize the iLok when installed in a keyboard port. If you experience this problem,
insert the iLok in one of the available USB ports on the CPU.

What is a License Card?
A License Card is used to authorize an iLok for any number of plug-ins. It looks like a credit card with a small
breakaway section that is broken out of the card and can be slid into the slot at the end of the iLok USB key. This
will install an authorization for the appropriate plug-in(s).

What is the copy protection scheme for plug-ins on Pro Tools|HD systems?
The new iLok USB dongle is now used and one is included with all Pro Tools|HD systems (PID# ends in -600 or last
four digits of the second line ends in 9966). They contain preauthorized demo authorizations for certain plug-ins
that are included in the HDpack bundles.
All non-DigiRack Digidesign plug-ins require iLok authorizations for Pro Tools|HD systems running Pro Tools 6.0 and
higher software on OS X. Pro Tools 5.3/5.3.1 on OS 9 can use iLok or floppy authorizations for most Digidesign plug-
ins with the exception of Reverb One, Bruno/Reso, DINR, and Virus, which require iLok authorization.

Is there a way to combine authorizations onto a single iLok to free up a USB port?
There is currently no way to merge authorizations that may reside on multiple iLoks. However, once registered at
www.ilok.com you can view what each iLok is authorized for. A powered USB hub may be used to run multiple iLoks
if you do not have available USB ports on your system.

When I install the iLok Extensions, using the InterLok Extensions Installer, I get this message "An error
occurred while trying to download the file."
Previous versions of the InterLok Extensions Installer required that your computer remain online during the
installation process. If you are seeing this error while installing, you should download the latest version of the
InterLok Extensions Installer which does not require the system to be online during the installation process.
If the computer using the iLok is not online:
1) Download the InterLok Extensions Installer to a computer that is online
2) Copy the installer to CD-R or other removable media
3) Transfer this file to the computer with that using the iLok with Pro Tools LE.
4) Run the installer. This will install the required drivers to the System Folder/Extensions Folder
The current driver/extensions for Mac OS X and OS 9x are:
InterLok Engine
USB iLok Driver
5) Restart the computer
