Digidesign Software folder > DAE Folder > Plugins folder.
Move these copies of the plug-ins back into the main plug-ins folder: Macintosh HD > System Folder > DAE Folder
> Plug-Ins folder
Alternately, you can choose to reinstall these plug-ins from the HD|Pack Installer, but you must first remove the
newer versions from the Plug-Ins folder, otherwise you will end up with duplicate versions of these plug-ins (and
Pro Tools will still load the floppy authorized versions only).
Note that the initial posting of the Pro Tools 5.3.1 TDM updater for Mac installed DINR plug-ins that needed to be
replaced using the process described above. The 6/19/2002 posting of the installer instals the iLok authorized
version of DINR and does not cause the issue described above.

Instructions for authorizing HDpack or iLok plug-ins running in Demo mode
If you are trying to authorize one or more HDpack or other iLok plug-ins that are already running in Demo mode:
- Launch Pro Tools before you insert the iLok
- Insert the iLok into any available USB port when prompted.
- Follow the onscreen instructions until you are prompted to insert the License Card into the iLok.
Some plug-ins will not show days remaining on the demo period and will not allow you to authorize them with the
method outlined above. Another way to force the demo plug-ins to ask for authorization is to advance the date on
your computer to a time that is past the demo period. You can then authorize the plug-ins to your iLok and switch
your system back to the correct date. **Be aware that this may expire all demos running on your system and these
cannot be re-run.**

Can I assign a password to my iLok(s)?
Digidesign does not support assigning passwords to an iLok Key.
You will not be able to register your iLok at iLok.com if it has been password protected.
If you attempt to use this feature, you should document your password. Make sure not to lose it as there is no way
to reset it without returning the iLok to PACE. If you lose your password, you will need to arrange for this with PACE
using the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Form located on the iLok.com Support pages — in order to get
an RMA number. PACE charges $10.00 plus shipping to remove the password from your iLok and return it.

I followed the 001 Factory Install Notes for installing the PACE System Files and Factory Plug-Ins.
When Pro Tools launches I can only run the demo versions of the plug-ins. If I click Next to authorize
the plug-in, a "Hardware Key Required" dialog comes up saying that no hardware key can be found.
The 001 Factory Install Notes require you to insert the iLok USB SmartKey before running the PACE System Files
Setup and the Factory Plug-In installers. This can present a problem since Windows 98SE/Me will detect the iLok
but will not have drivers loaded for it. The iLok may show up in the System Properties/Device Manager under the
heading Other Devices, illustrated with a yellow question mark. Even after installing the PACE System Files Setup
and Factory Plug-Ins, Windows will not recognize the iLok and the plug-ins will not load as authorized versions when
Pro Tools is launched.
For Windows to recognize the iLok correctly, go to:
1) Control Panel > System Properties > Device Manager > Other Devices
2) Highlight the iLok and select Add/Remove
3)Close the System Properties and restart the computer
