Can Digitranslator translate keyframe automation into Pro Tools automation?
Digitranslator 1.0 will only translate clip-based gain. Digitranslator 2.0 will translate keyframe gain from Avid
versions 10.0 and higher. Clip-based gain is also supported with Digitranslator 2.0.

In between the releases of Digitranslator 1.0 and 2.0 there were several "cs" releases. What are these
cs releases and what issues did they resolve?
1.0cs1 fixes:
- Timestamps on some regions (specifically regions that are right-hand contributors to crossfades) are incorrectly
time stamped by DigiTranslator 1.0 in the translation process.
- In sessions created by DigiTranslator 1.0 a small percentage of edits may be missing under some common
circumstances. In these sessions, the regions are present in the region list but, due to an error, are missing in the
timeline.
- DigiTranslator 1.0 may not translate a sequence, returning a "not enough room on volume an additional X MB is
required..." message when there is adequate space available on the specified volume. DigiTranslator was incorrectly
calculating the usable space on some volumes.
1.0cs2 fixes:
- Sometimes after opening a Pro Tools session created by DigiTranslator, deleting (or trimming) one fade on a track
will delete all the fades on that track.
- Multi-group video clips from Media Composer versions 8.0 and later are converted as video black.
- Sometimes an "Assertion in FF_EmbeddedAudioFile.cpp" occurs when translating OMF files with embedded audio
originating from Symphony.
- Sometimes a one sample rounding error results in edits that that are not "healable" but which should be.
1.0cs3 fixes
- uncompressed (1:1) video and "multi-file" clips. i.e., uncompressed video > 2 GB.

What does it mean when I get the error "File edit rate does not match project edit rate" error when
trying to import an OMF created in DigiTranslator?
When converting from Pro Tools to OMF for import into an Avid system, always check the "quantize edits to frame
boundaries" box. Because Pro Tools systems perform edits on a sample accurate basis, and Avid systems edit on
frame boundaries, this option writes additional "pad" files so that regions are placed on frame boundaries when
imported into an Avid system.

When exporting an OMF from an Avid system there are options for OMF 1.0 and OMF 2.0. Which does
Digitranslator support?
Digitranslator only supports OMF 2.0

When exporting an OMF from an Avid system or converting to OMF with Digitranslator, what is the
difference between creating external OMFI media vs. creating embedded OMFI media?
Embedded media creates one single OMFI file that contains both the metadata (roadmap of how to assemble the
audio on the timeline) and the media files. Embedded files can be very large in size depending on the project.
External media is similar in structure to a Pro Tools session and its audio files. Its comprised of one small OMFI file
containing metadata only, and a separate folder containing all of the media files.
