Why doesn’t Digitranslator 1.0 and 1.0.1 recognize sessions created by Pro Tools 5.1 and higher? How
can I convert a 5.1 or higher Pro Tools session to OMF?
Digitranslator 1.0 and 1.0.1 were created before the release of Pro Tools 5.1 and do not recognize the newer file
type. Use the Save Session Copy In function in Pro Tools 5.1 or higher to save a copy of the session in 5.0 format.
Digitranslator 2.0 is integrated directly into Pro Tools 5.1.3 or higher software and does allow direct OMF import/
export of 5.1 (and higher) sessions.

What does it mean when Digitranslator 1.0 reports an "allocation failure."
Digitranslator requires more memory to perform the operation. Get info on Digitranslator and increase the amount
of preferred memory assigned. In some cases, Digitranslator may require as much as 100MB of RAM allocated to
convert larger files. Never change the minimum memory settings.

When exporting an OMF using Digitranslator, what is the "quantize edits to frame boundaries" function
and when should it be checked?
This is available because Pro Tools is sample accurate and AVID applications such as Media Composer and
Symphony are frame accurate. It should always be checked when the destination of the OMF is an AVID or other
frame accurate system. When checked, Digitranslator will add silent "frame accurate edits" to the head and/or tail
of a region so that its head and tail fall on exact frame boundaries once imported into the destination application.

Does Digitranslator support 24-bit audio files?
Digitranslator 1.0 does not support 24-bit audio files. It will however convert a 16-bit OMF to a 24-bit Pro Tools
session or vice versa by writing new audio files.
Digitranslator 2.0, an optional that can be integrated directly into Pro Tools 5.1.3 and higher software does support
import/export of 24-bit files.
