User guide

- Set the Manufacturer to Alesis and the Model to your specific ADAT model.

Pro Tools
---------------------
- Setups menu to peripherals: Synchronization: Device is Generic MTC reader, Port is ADAT, check the enable
control of Pro Tools via MMC box.
- Windows menu: Show Session Setup. Set the sample and frame rates to match that between the ADAT and Pro
Tools. Current time and session start time should match hours. Set the sync mode to optical. Note: If you do not
see "current time" then the timing information is not being sent from the JLCooper (check midi connections, OMS
studio setup, Pro Tools settings or the dataSYNC2). If when switching sync mode from internal to optical you get
the error "unable to detect a clock source" then the optical cable is at fault or Pro Tools is not receiving the optical
sync (Go to setups: Playback engine: and make sure that Optical format is on ADAT). When changing session start
times you must press the enter key to complete the change in hour. If it prompts you to adjust the regions choose
"Maintain Relative" position.
- MIDI menu: Input devices: Ensure that the ADAT is checked on.
- Transport window: Put online (Operations menu: Online). The clock will flash blue and the edit window should
read "waiting for sync" near the bottom left hand corner.
- Setups menu: Preferences: Choose either record at ADAT lock or Insertion/selection.
- Press play on the ADAT and Pro Tools should go into play and be in sync.
