Why isn't Pro Tools resolving to a tape striped with LTC/VITC that I received from a European studio?
Most likely the tape was striped at 25 frames per second (fps). In order to play this tape back at the correct rate
you will need a PAL sync box that generates 25 fps of black burst. You can currently change between PAL and NTSC
via the USD Setup v5.01 using the video format parameter or from the Front Panel of the USD. To change between
NTSC and PAL from the front panel:
Press SET,
Press UP or DOWN to get to Video Sys Window,
then press SET to get to NTSC/PAL setting.
Press UP or DOWN to choose NTSC or PAL.

In order to switch the Vid Ref Jack between PAL and NTSC settings (optional: also selectable from front panel: see
above) and for Pro Tools III systems which don't have a digiserial port.

How do I update the USD firmware?
From the USD setup or within the peripherals dialogue of Pro Tools v4.31 and later. With a d24 or Mix Card you can
update the USD if it's connected to the Digiserial port. With a Pro Tools III system (Disk I/O and DSP Farm) use the
USD Setup.
