What can be done when a fader appears to have gone bad (Fader is dead in all modes including
"Vegas")? Is the fader really dead?
Maybe no, Maybe yes, What can happen is the fader will "fall" out of the parameter "window" which is the
acceptable range the fader can fall and still work. If it slips up or down beyond the parameter window the fader
goes dead. If after a factory reset and running Vegas mode, the fader still does not respond. Go to Utilities> Test>
Fader > Recal to recalibrate it. If this does not bring the fader back on-line contact Digidesign Technical Support for
a fader replacement.

Can the headphone jack be used as a separate out assigned by a separate mix out, independent of the
main mix?
No. You cannot monitor a discrete mix through the headphone jack while monitoring another mix through your
main outs. To set up a discrete mix for talent or other purposes use outputs 5-6 to a headphone amp.

Can more than one Pro Tools system use one ProControl over a network?
The ProControl can be safely used by only one system at a time. However, multiple systems can "access" a
ProControl on a local area network simultaneously.

Pro Tools is unable to communicate or is not responding to ProControl after the Ethernet controllers
scan? What's wrong?
Make sure you made a selection in the pull down menu after the scan to identify the ProControl Main unit and fader
pack. Another cause could be AppleTalk not being set to Ethernet in the AppleTalk control panel.

Does AppleTalk need to be on for ProControl communication?
The AppleTalk Protocol does not need to be turned on (in the Chooser). However, the AppleTalk control panel needs
to be set to Ethernet.
