7. Click OK to confirm the setting. Your PC will now obtain an IP address
autom atically from yo ur B roadb and R outer’s D H C P server.
Note:P lease m a ke sure that the B ro a dba nd rou ter’s D H C P se rver is
the only DHCP server available on your LAN.
O nce yo u’ve co nfigured yo ur P C to obtain an IP address automatically,
please proceed to Step 3.
3) Once you have configured your PCs to obtain an IP address
autom atically, the ro uter’s D H C P serve r w ill a uto m a tically give your
LA N clients a n IP a ddress. B y de fault the B road ban d R outer’s D H CP
server is enabled so that you can obtain an IP address automatically.
To see if you have obtained an IP address, see Appendix A.
Note: P lea se m ake sure that the B roadband route r’s D H C P se rver is
the only DHCP server available on your LAN. If there is another
D H C P on your netw ork, then yo u’ll n eed to sw itch o ne of the
D H C P serve rs off. (To disable th e B roadb and route r’s D H C P
server see chapter 2 LAN Port)
