Link establishment
When you have carried out service discovery, you
can establish a link to the remote device. You can
make use of any service that both your device and
the remote device support. Drag the local service
to the corresponding remote service:
In the above example, a DUN (dial-up networking)
link is being established by dragging the local
DUN service to the remote DUN service. (The
remote device could be a computer with access to
a modem, which would allow you to access the
Internet.)
Alternatively, if you know in advance that a remote
device supports a particular service, you can skip
service discovery. Just drag the local service to
the remote device:
In this example, a DUN link is being established
by dragging the local DUN service to the remote
device.
For information on how to make use of each of the
local services when a link has been established,
refer to the section about the local service in
question.
If link establishment is not carried out
successfully: The remote user may have set up
his device to reject link establishment attempts (cf.
“Trust”), the distance between the two devices
may be too far, etc. A message box will let you
know what went wrong.
