Procedure 5: Checking the PortServer Port Settings
Use this procedure during the Master Troubleshooting Process when you performed a telnet to
the PortServer and did receive a PortServer login prompt.
1. Log in as root. The default password is dbps.
2. Check to see that the required information appears in your port settings by using the
following commands:
Command Result
set port range=range
where range is two numbers separated
by a hyphen. The first number is the
beginning range and must be less than
the second number. Often the number
is 1. The second number is the end
range and is between 8 and 64.
Verify that all parameters are configured
correctly. For example, a PortServer port
configured for a terminal should have the dev
parameter set to term and termtype set to the
proper terminal type.
set flow range=range
where range is two numbers separated
by a hyphen. The first number is the
beginning range and must be less than
the second number. Often the number
is 1. The second number is the end
range and is between 8 and 64.
Verify that all parameters are configured
correctly.
