newpass
Purpose Creates or changes user passwords for the device.
Required permissions For products with two or more users, permissions must be set to “set
permissions newpass=rw-self” for a user to set their own password, and “set
permissions newpass=rw” to set another user’s password. See "set
permissions" for details on setting user permissions for commands.
Syntax newpass [{id=number|name=string}]
Options id=number
Specifies the ID of the user to be acted on.
name=string
Specifies the name of the user to be acted on.
Examples The “newpass” command initiates a dialog that changes the user’s password.
User changing their own password
#> newpass
Changing another user’s password
#> newpass name=jdoe
