Envelope/Special
The DigiTech® Envelope Filter is a dynamic wah eect that alters your sound based upon how hard you play. The available
envelope/special eect pedals are:
•DigiTech Auto Yah
TM
An Auto Ya
TM
combines the characteriscs of a wah and a anger,
creang an almost human vowel characterisc as if the guitar were
saying “Yah.” The Auto Ya automacally provides this animaon to the
sound at an even rate.
•DigiTech Envelope Filter
An envelope lter is also called an “auto-wah” for its wah eect. The
amount of wah is dependent upon the output volume of your guitar
– the harder you play, the more wah you get. A denite B-Movie
soundtrack tone.
•DigiTech Sample/Hold
Using a changing lter, the Sample/Hold produces skipping tones
that can be heard in experimental and alternave music (it creates
an “electronic” or “roboc” type sound). Best used with distoron in
front of the eect.
•DigiTech Step Filter
The Step Filter changes frequency in related paerns much like a
sample and hold eect. It’s like an automac “random wah” with a
square waveform.
•DigiTech Synth Talk
TM
Another DigiTech rst, the Synth Talk
TM
makes your guitar appear to
speak (creang vowel like qualies) based upon the dynamics of your
playing style.
•DigiTech Ya Ya
TM
The Ya Ya
TM
is another eect exclusive to DigiTech products. Like the
Auto Ya, it combines the characteriscs of a wah and a anger, providing
a unique talk box type of eect, but is controlled by the Expression
Pedal.

®
FX25 Envelope Filter
The DOD
®
FX25 is a classic analog envelope lter that can be found
on many funk and alternave tracks. Used by both guitar and bass
players. Try this one clean for a really funky sound.
