Chips, Chunks or Mini Splits?
Chips Use to create extra smoke and unique flavor such as wine and whiskey. But don’t
soak in water. Can be used in any chip tray, smoking appliance or added to any wood or
charcoal fire.
Chunks and Mini-Splits -
Can be used interchangeably with or instead of instead of
charcoal or propane. Can be used as primary or secondary heat as well as primary or
secondary flavoring. The only real difference is the size of the chunk or mini split and the
appliance you are using them in.
Size Options
Chips ¾” Grind. Our standard chip grind size for optimal performance. Very uniform in
size which is essential when determining quantity, heat and flavor. A non-uniform chip size
will result in unexpected and inconsistent performance. Based on weight they burn much
faster and hotter than chunks.
1.5” Chunks - Cut to 1.5" 2” to perfectly fit into the 4x4 SmokerCooker or other Smoking
Trays. Use instead of or with chips or charcoal. Never soak in water. A bit more expensive
than the 2-3" series as the processing time is much higher.
2.5” Chunks - Cut to 2-3" to perfectly fit into the 6x6 or 6x12 SmokerCooker. Can be added
to any charcoal fire to infuse more flavoring. Use with or instead of chips or charcoal. Never
soak in water. Too large for chip trays or the 4x4 SmokerCooker.
5” Mini Splits Cut to 5” long to perfectly fit in the 6x12 SmokerCooker.
